I guess Charles Bukowski got it right. It's been way too long since I updated my blog. That's the problem with technology, too much of it and not enough time.
It was a fabulous experience at the Doll Exhibition in St. Petersburg Russia. I taught two sessions of my Dreamfish classes. I want to thank all of my new Russian friends for your warm hospitality and sharing. Art and creativity are universal bonds that bring us together. You are all truly wonderful!
In July,Chicago was the site of the 2010 NIADA annual conference.
It was great to reconnect with old friends and make new ones. We even had a chance to enjoy the outdoor amenities of the "Windy City."
During the conference, the blockbusterTransformers 3 was being filmed around us.
Now it's time to look forward.
I have several new projects in the works. In May, I'm proud to be exhibiting at the First Annual Doll & Teddy Bear Artist & Collector Convention presented by The Susan Quinlan Doll & Teddy Bear Museum. If you can get to Philadelphia, this promises to be an incredible opportunity.
Terry and Susan have brought together an amazing group of people and organizations from across the country to celebrate, educate and appreciate artists and collectors of dolls and teddy bears in a wide range of media. I hope to see you there!
In August, it's off to Denver. I'll be exhibiting and teaching two classes:Hand Felted Animal Head and Costuming from Conception to Completion. For more information and to register, click on this link: 2011 NIADA Annual Conference. If you have the chance to get to Denver, the conference has something for everyone.
That's all for now. I'll try to be more diligent in my updates. Thanks for your patience.
Cheers,
Deborah
